Pakistan’s recovery after one of the worst floods ever recorded, as well as its role in the global fight against terrorism, mean it is rarely out of the world’s media nowadays.

“From curbing corporal punishment in schools to disaster risk response, Plan has done it all and has tried its best to have an impact on children.”
Haider Waseem Yaqub, Country Director, Plan Pakistan
Families in Pakistan seek peace, stability and a healthy environment in which to bring up their children. The country produces wheat, cotton, rice and maize, but more than a third of its 161 million population are living in poverty.
Recent highlights of Plan’s work:
- Gave nearly 4,000 nursery school children the chance of a healthy start in life and the foundations for learning by providing nursery facilities.
- Organised training for over 300 participants to learn more about child rights and protecting children from harm.
- Helped screen 25,000 children for short sightedness and other eye problems.
