Graeme's ultra-marathon challenge

Graeme Potts has a busy schedule planned for 2012 - running a marathon, seven ultra-marathons and a three-peak challenge - all to raise money for our Because I am a Girl campaign.
Royal Parks Half Marathon

A big thank you to more than 100 runners who took part in the 2011 Royal Parks Half Marathon and raised an amazing amount for Plan. Can you spot yourself in our photo slideshow?
Tri Amigos swim, cycle and run for Plan

David Toscano, Allan Begg and Sargon Yousif challenged themselves to get fit and complete the London Triathlon in Hyde Park, raising £1000 for Plan in the process.
Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro

Kate Abbey, a Plan supporter, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in March this year and raised funds for our work.

East Timor – a decade after independence

Since it was declared independent from Indonesia in 2002, East Timor has struggled with internal strife and violence. Plan has worked in East Timor since 2001 helping communities on the road to recovery.

No easy bedtime reading for G8 leaders

As the G8 leaders sit down at Camp David this week, it is to be hoped that the attention of the world's media won't be on what they will be eating or what their partners are wearing as has happened at previous summits. If a new food security and nutrition initiative is to be announced, then this is the real story, at least for millions of people across the Sahel region currently at risk of chronic malnutrition.

A tale of two crises

It feels disingenuous to make comparisons between the financial crisis in Europe and beyond where relative to much of the world we are living like lords, and Niger where the majority of the people have no idea how lords like us live.
