Campaining in action

Thousands of Because I am a Girl supporters have already taken action to support girls’ education.

In 2009 6,500 Because I am a Girl supporters asked former UK Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, to take action to ensure girls in countries affected by conflict have access to education.

The UK Government later announced an overseas education policy which identified gender inequality in conflict-affected and fragile states as a key priority area.
