Rehabilitation after the floods

The acute emergency situation in Haiti has passed now, with government health posts both in the areas we work and surrounding affected communities now having enough medicines to meet demand. In the south east, Plan Haiti, together with the Ministry of Health has completed delivery of medicines to Mapou (the worst affected area).

In the west, we are ensuring that the four different health partners, including the Ministry of Health, have sufficient medicines at each health centre to address the increased demand.

As before, we are assessing the needs of individual families affected by the floods on a case by case basis.

The rehabilitation activities required in the areas we work will be integrated into our program unit operational plans. We will continue to monitor the situation outside these areas so that we can offer help if required.
