Agami – a TV show for children's rights
Plan Bangladesh is producing a 25-minute weekly television show called Agami (future), to spread awareness of children's rights. It has been designed to create a platform for disadvantaged children to express themselves, voice their ideas and opinions. The programme provides a voice to children who have been deprived of their rights and never had access to media.
Agami has given these children an opportunity to express their opinions and their views. It is a programme for children, made by children, with the support and the assistance of their peers. Children are the presenters, reporters, interviewees, and the main actors in the show.
Since the beginning of the programme, four months ago, 18 young people have been trained as presenters and other 20 have learnt journalistic skills.
The Bagladeshi national television BTV is telecasting the show free of charge.
