Members of the Rights of Children club in Ghana talk about how sponsorship benefits the whole community, and how youth community volunteers help children to write letters to their sponsors.
Plan's sponsorship programme in Ghana reaches over 30,000 children in 30 communities, and young volunteers make a major contribution by introducing the idea of sponsorship to the whole community and by talking directly to families about the process.
Once a family has decided to put a child forward for sponsorship, the volunteers collect information about the child and their family and take the photographs which will be sent to the sponsor each year.
The young people also help sponsored children to read the letters and cards sent by their sponsors, and assist them to write letters in return.
