Plan works to ensure the survival, protection and healthy development of children, young people and adults by promoting and strengthening sustainable community-managed health care systems.

When you are driving down the street and see streetchildren working, don't give them money. I want you to build a medical aid station where they can receive medical care and food

Plan is assisting local communities in providing clean drinking water and better sanitation, ensuring a child's rights to quality healthcare, minimising the vulnerability of children and young people to HIV/AIDS and maximising their ability to cope with its consequences; encouraging accessible and appropriate prevention, and promoting quality care and support for affected children and their families.

Plan is further assisting communities in securing access for all children to enough food for their proper growth and development.

There are 300-500 million cases of malaria yearly and more than 1 million people die of malaria. 9 out of 10 cases occur in Africa, south of the Sahara.
