Your pledges and postcards went to Gordon Brown on 28th May when we handed in over 6,000 signatures of support for Because I am a Girl. We gave Gordon Brown a list of everybody who has signed our pledge or sent him an email since the beginning of the campaign.
One of the Guides' members of parliament, Ashok Kumar (MP for for Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland) came to show his support for the campaign. He said:
"The Because I am a girl campaign is a great cause which aims to improve the lives of girls around the world living in poverty and give them the kinds of opportunities that girls in this country benefit from. Rebecca asked me to ask the Prime Minister a question about what he intends to do to keep the promise he made in Gleneagles and I have gladly agreed to do this."
Once we have received and official response, we will post it on our website.
Thanks to everybody who took part. The fight for girls' rights goes on!
