Shobna Gulati"It should no longer be acceptable to consider women and girls as second class citizens. Plan's `State of the worlds Girls' report and the 'Because I am a Girl' campaign allows people to understand why this is happening and to pledge their support for change which is something we all can get involved in."
Shobna Gulati

Arabella Weir"That 62 million of the world's girls of primary age are not in school is outrageous. This has to change. I am happy and proud to support the Plan pledge and delighted to help raise awareness of this worthwhile campaign."
Arabella Weir

Julie Pankhurst"There are many different laws already in place that should protect young women but unfortunately not enough of them are being enforced. The Plan report makes it clear why this needs to be done and if by supporting Plan and signing up to the pledge will make a difference I felt it essential to get involved".
Julie Pankhurst

Fiona Phillips"This report proves that girls all over the world get a raw deal and it only takes a few minutes to log onto the Plan website and pledge your support for girl's rights. It's a 'no brainer' and something as a Plan sponsor I was more than happy to support."
Fiona Phillips

Cherie Booth QC"There is plenty of evidence that girls face greater disadvantage and discrimination in many parts of the world. For example, it's estimated that, globally, 7.4 million more girls than boys don't get a primary school education, and 70% of those in absolute poverty are female. So it's good news that Plan has launched its Because I am a Girl campaign to draw attention to these abuses and what can be done to overcome them."
