Last year Plan spent over $571.8 million on child-centered community projects in some of the world’s poorest countries in Asia, Africa and the Americas.

Below are some of the achievements Plan communities made last year thanks to the contributions of Plan’s supporters, sponsors and donors.

  • 6,307 training courses were run for community health workers
  • 102 health centres were constructed and 352 were renovated and equipped
  • 425,306 children under five were immunized
  • 152,221 children under five received 3,051,658 supplementary feeding meals
  • 602 communities received disaster relief assistance
  • 3,843 adolescents received life skills training
  • 4,061 trainings were provided on sexual reproductive health
  • 11,548 health workers received training on under five health
  • 272 new irrigation systems and 1,423 irrigation pumps were constructed
  • 14,270 families received support from co-operatives
  • 6,530 animals were provided to farmers
  • 9,674 females and 6,423 males received vocational training
  • 3,087 people received business skills training
  • 13,794 children in especially difficult circumstances received help
  • 107,180 children under five received micronutrients
  • 35,231 pre-natal check-ups were carried out
  • 307,099 families received mosquito nets
  • 213 playgrounds were constructed and 1,469 play sets were provided to schools
  • 9,439 new community waters systems were installed and 5,469 systems upgraded
  • 4,222 families were connected to water systems
  • 5,693 trainings were provided on water and sanitation management
  • 37,522 home latrines and 1,845 school latrines were constructed or upgraded
  • 225 tree nurseries were established
  • 206,577 tree seedlings were provided
  • 1,464 families received bio-gas units
  • 45,021 girls and 27,675 boys received primary school scholarships
  • 21,609 girls and 11,205 boys received secondary
