In 2011, Plan reached 56.4 million children in 58,053 communities in 50 developing countries.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and partners, this year Plan UK income was £56m – £6.7m more than last year.
Some of the highlights from the year:
- We responded to over 30 emergencies
- We joined the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), a UK umbrella organisation uniting 14 leading UK aid agencies
- We strengthened our work with girls and boys, fighting gender inequalities, and we published our annual ‘State of the World’s Girls’ report focusing this year on the boom in city populations and the explosion of IT and communication technology.
